Expose fruit to controlled sprays while keeping the handling and inspection path visible.
The carrying surface controls fruit residence beneath the spray arrangement. Coverage depends on presentation, turning or contact, spray access and actual soil. A higher pump rating alone does not prove that shielded fruit surfaces are cleaned.
Specify belt or roller surface, transfer heights and the risk of bruising or trapped fruit.
Define spray supply, return screening, drain points and the responsibility for water quality.
Use representative fruit and agreed cleanliness, damage and carryover criteria at a measured feed basis.
A spray duty is not a validated antimicrobial treatment or a universal replacement for all upstream debris removal.
Record fruit loading height, discharge spread, drainage, reject collection and access along the conveyor.
Inspect nozzles, carrying surfaces, bearings outside the contact zone and removable debris traps. Define isolation and safe access before service.
Compare with immersion washing only under the same fruit, soil, cleanliness and damage criteria.
